After deciding to take the M&P plunge , I noticed on the S&W Website a CA and a MA compliant version of the M&P in all calibers whats the diffrerence with a “standard” M&P and those other two mentioned? ![]()
Thanks for any info ![]()
CA:
Loaded Chamber Indicator
Max 10 rd magazines
Internal lock
Passed a drop test
MA:
If no manual safety then trigger pull must be > or = to 10 lbs
Loaded Chamber Indicator
Max 10 rd magazines

Doesn’t one of them also have to have a magazine disconnect as well?
Living Virginia I don’t worry about it so much :sarcastic:![]()
Th CA compliant models I have worked on have the mag disconnect and no ILS. They do come with 10 rounders…
The MA 9mm I have use a very heavy trigger return and sear spring that bring pull weights up beyond 10 lbs.

I want to try that MA trigger return spring in my M&P9, to see how it affects the reset characteristics.
Minimal affect on reset. (Slightly increased reset.) The MA TRS is best used to increase the pull weight (about 2+ pounds).
