Just got one of these in and I must say that S&W has out done themselves on this pistol. As a WC CQB and other high end 1911 owner, I must say that I am a bit of a 1911 snob. I am impressed with the fit of this gun, the details put into it and the cost.
That’s beautiful, my father in law, ( a huge S&W wheelgun fan) has told me about how S&W’s alloy scandium is revolutionary, and he wanted them to make a 1911 out of it.
Well here it is! Does it have the Schwartz firing pin block? Just curious, a while back I had a Kimber with that and I hated it, was always afraid of it not going bang when it was needed.
VZ hasn’t had a chance to make them for the RB “E” Series gun yet so I took a pair of regular grips and did some filing, sanding and fitting to make them work with this gun. The final sanding was with #600 grit paper and they look like new.
These are early guns and they now have them available in the black finish also.
These guns have been nothing but reliable. I made a few small tweeks that are in line with what Hilton Yam did to his and all three of mine have proven to be very trustworthy guns.
10-8 just released the “Ledge” style “U” notch all black rear sight. I’ll post some pics after I get it installed. These are excellent guns and if the OP has them available, you should get one before they’re gone.
