Russian Triangle stock hinge notch???

I recently purchased a Russian triangle folding stock which uses the 5.5mm pin, which I have heard is the latest size (instead of 4.5mm). I bought this from Russmilitary.com. The lower hinge has a nice clean notch cut into it with the bottom of the cut at an angle. I have heard some of the polymer side folding AK-100 stocks will show this notch as well.

Is this some deact requirement for the notch, or some other reason?

I had a Russian 100 series polymer folder that had that notch. I just assumed it was a sloppy removal job. Kind of wish I’d kept it now that Arsenal is importing Russian guns.
