Ruger Stripped Lower Receiver Quality

Hello,

Does anyone have any recent experience with Ruger stripped lower receivers? A local store has them at a decent price, but I haven’t seen many reviews on them.

Thanks.

I used one to build a rifle for my wife. It seemed to be as good as anything else I have used and everything went together without any issue. Just my sample of one.

I bought one when a LGS had them on sale for less than my go-to lowers (Aero), but only a few bucks more than Andersens’s.

Went together fine, works fine. No issues.

I am firmly in the camp of “a lower is a lower” as long as it’s in spec, made and finished to mil-spec, and works as intended. If a few bucks can be saved on a lower (that’s made to spec.) that’s more money I can spend on other quality items such as barrels, bcg’s, and optics.

I built on one in the last few months with no issues. Definitely prefer it to the anderson lower I was using before. I dislike the fact that they are configured to use 2 roll pins in the trigger guard, but a GI trigger guard installs fine. Unlike Anderson, the grip screw hole is drilled to a normal depth. Mag well works with mil spec, Magpul M2 and Magpul M3 magazines.

I recently used one on a build with a BCM lpk. Everything fit fine, and the lower appears to be good quality.

I don’t recall ever hearing anything about low quality regarding them. They should be fine.

Will I be able to install a GI trigger guard that will swing down for winter use?

Thanks all for the replies!

Yes, absolutely. I have one installed on my Ruger lower. It works the same way as with any milspec lower.
