Took the SR1911 out to the range again yesterday, put another 300 rounds through it, no problem, no issues, and as you shall see the bad guy had a very, very bad day. I did a rapid fire drill from about ten yards away.
Just as an FYI, your thumb goes on TOP of the thumb safety on a 1911.
Enjoy your pistol.

Go Brewers!:dance3:
Thanks, bro. I know, I just got a bit flustered trying to figure out how to shoot it one handed while holding my iPhone 4S in the right place to get everything in the shot. But always a good reminder.
It never ceases to amaze me how much more challenging it is to shoot the 1911 one handed, than with two. Not sure how anyone, hit anything, beyond 15 feet, shooting it one handed.
Go, away, Brewers!
:dance3:
I am green with envy over your shooting facility. You should see the crowded indoor ranges we have to put up with here in NJ.
I hear you, bro. I don’t take it for granted. I know what a privilege it is.
Thanks for your comment and for watching.
Wow that iPhone takes nice video.
I’m pretty pleased with it. Glad Apple upgraded the iPhone’s camera to 8 megapixel. And, they also upgraded the sound recording. Previously, it would cut out at gun shots and make all my weapons sound like they have silencers on them.
I am hoping that one of my shooting buddies gets one of these under the Christmas tree this year, that way I can shoot it for free! Nice pistol and enjoy!
Thanks for the review, a co-worker picked up a SR1911 in late spring/early summer and it looked really nice (damn nice for the price point too).
What range is that? I usually go to Busch as its 10min from my work but they are supposed to be closing for up to 2yrs to totally redo it.
Replace the flat mainspring housing with an arched one if you plan to shoot a lot with 1 hand it seems to make it point much better.
I’m glad to see somebody is having better luck with their SR1911 than I am. For the price, I figured I would give it a shot. It’s turned out to be just an expensive headache for me.
Don’t relate your experience to the Ruger faithful, they’ll savage you for telling the truth. I’ve never seen a more irrational collective response about the release of a new pistol(not you OP), over at GT they have simply declared it the very best 1911 ever. I kid you not, some of the responses are almost psychotic…
This is a true statement. Arched housings work great if you have small hands as well (like me).
The only Ruger I’d ever trust my life to would be one of their revolvers. Ruger autoloaders, with the notable exception of the .22 Mark-series pistols, are basically all junk. Since the 1911 is such an easy design to completely fuck up I’m going to pass on the SR1911. GT is 'tard central, has been for years.
OP, like the video. Hope the pistol works out well for you.
Funny. Nothing better than Glock fanboys telling us about how great a 100 year old single stack gun is.
