As some of you know I recently was fortunate to become part of one of the largest and most proud shooting teams in the US and that’s the Rudy Project USA Competition Squad.
For those that don’t know, or for those that are cycling guru’s, Rudy Project USA is one of the premier eyewear manufacturers in the world. Their only real competition is Oakley and frankly, having been previously sponsored by Oakley, these glasses are much better, their warranty and guarantees are better, they openly support the shooting sports and the prices for the technology are ridiculous! Our glasses have everything from the basic frame styles to accommodate anyone’s preferences to technology like:
Prescription inserts for your shooting glasses
Prescription lenses integrated in to a concaved lens. Our FreeForm TEK design system maximizes your visual acuity.
Photochromic lenses that tint to the sun’s conditions
Replacement lens colors to match the lighting/exposure conditions of the range that day
The lenses with ImpactRx technology are guaranteed for life against breakage
The frames are completely adjustable for fit your nose and temples for maximum comfort
Concealed hinges add greater protection and durability
Well…enough of the sales pitch, what’s the bottom line? The bottom line is that Rudy Project USA in wanting to go full force and show its (continued) support of the shooting sports is offering for its Team Members and Friends (M4C.net) a 40% discount on everything that we have. Here’s how to do it:
If you have any questions on Rudy products, e-mail me or PM me any time.
Figured I’d pass a great deal on great glasses and gear to the M4C.net crowd.
Rich
P.S. Just to clarify this in advance, myself and every person on the team, DO NOT MAKE A DIME on the sale. We are ambassadors of the company. How many non-shooting supply company openly show shooters in their catalogs? Very few. Rudy Project is a huge international corporation and they have many of our team shooters in their print media.
Hey, baby… sorry can’t do it. Just try the glasses.
I got the Tactical Package with the 5 (?) sets of lenses and Rydon frame and then added the polarized FX3 lenses. I actually wear the bright red ones almost all the time. Great glasses, I actually have the inserts, and never even know they are there when I shoot. I looked around for a long time trying to balance out the number of prescription lenses (need clear and some kind of sunglasses at a minimum) versus costs, and the Rudy’s with inserts seemed the best way to go. I was glad I had the versatility. At the MD PWSA class I was expecting really bright sun so I had my polarizing gray lenses in but it ended up being overcast, so I switched to the reds in about 60 seconds. Pop in clears for indoor and night work. Granted you are now ‘Six-Eyes’, but the vision is excellent.
Looking forward to adding a photochromic lens set.
I guess that is different website than the link USC-BD listed to order the materials. I wonder if he needs to activate them for his bro code or something?
UPDATE
WEIRD- I followed USCs link and there were limited options for glasses listed, but while I was messing around, all of a sudden all kinds of options started showing up, including the Rydon Tac package when the Rydon glasses link under “Sports and Casual” gear is selected. Spare lenses and other stuff is active now. Weird.
I’m a cyclist (road and mountain) and a shooter (just your run of the mill “mechanical head”!).
Care to make a recommendation for a pair of Rudy’s that would serve well in both rolls?
I’m thinking that the right pair of range-glasses should work well for cyling…I"m currently doing it the other way around (wear my Bole’ cycling glasses to the range).
FYI, I wear a prescription insert, which may be important.
Rainman - Being that it’s for both roles, I really do like the Rydon Shooter’s pack. You’ll get the frames and four lenses. When I get to the range, after sign in, I’ll play with the different lenses and see which works for that time of day’s conditions (particularly if it’s overcast or really sunny). Dial in the right lenses are you’re good to go.
Best part too is that you can get the insert frame and then you’re just changing lenses and it’s much more affordable direction to go than the prescription lenses. If you choose to go that route, and for an ‘all around’ setup, I think I’d go with probably a set of the Noyz in the red photochromic lenses and then have a prescription cut in them. With everything I think they’re going to be in the $300 range, but again, that’s a do everything super-cool direction to go.
Thanks a bunch to the guys that have placed orders on glasses. I can tell you that having worn Wiley’s (Iraq), Oakley’s & ESS glasses (Iraq again) and having used Rudy’s since 2001 for shooting, that Rudy Project glasses are far better and it’s why I took them to Afghanistan with me in 2007.
As a flight medic, we beat the hell out of our gear and the frames that I took were an OLD pair of Rydon’s that still are perfect as the day I bought them.
If there are ANY product questions, please do not hesitate to write or PM me.
Based on backchannel conversations with uscbigdawg as well as my friend Julie Goloski (who is also sponsored by Rudy), I decided to give a set of these a try. I don’t expect they’ll be here before this weekend and the Culpeper class but I’ll have them with me in NM later this month. Anyone who wants to give them a try, just ask …
I’ll write up a full review once I’ve had a chance to use them at the range tonight and test the photochromatic qualities better. Thanks again to bigdawg for setting up the discount program!
I tried out my Noyz glasses today and I like them a lot. They fit my face well and vision is excellent at the local indoor range. I got the clear photo-chromatic lenses and will try them out next week at an outdoor range.
A big thank you goes out to uscbigdawg for passing along a great offer…thanks:)
I have Rydons with inserts and I like them. I think the truest test is that the 10 times that I have with them, there have been only two times where I even realized I had them on. THe just slid down my nose just a bit, so I had to move them. I may look a little funny with the inserts, especially when I wear them as my EDC glasses, but they do the job well.
So far, so good. I still haven’t had a chance to use them outdoors when shooting, so the photochromatic red lenses I got have gone untested. I’ll be outdoors in NC for a weekend later this month so that should give a good opportunity.
Several years ago my team received a bunch as part of our sponsorship package. They were nice back then so I can only imagine how they’ve improved over the years.
