Does anyone have an opinion they care to share about the Rock River Arms Entry Tactical rifle. All of my local firearms dealers are having trouble getting Colt ARs. I was even told today that if I was not a LEO and provided them with a request on department letterhead, they cannot order a Colt LE6920 for me. I’m not a LEO. So how about the RRA rifle?
Why don’t you order a 6920 off of gunsamerica.com, have it shipped to one of those ignorant twerps for the transfer, and show them how easy it is to get one?
One won’t receive firearms, and the other I didn’t ask. BTW, both wanted $545 bucks for a Beretta 92FS that I purchased several miles away, at a sporting goods store (in stock) for $478. Both acted like Colts are hard to come by. I’m just wanting to know if the RRA is any better than DPMS or Bushmaster. He did try to steer me away from Olympic Arms. Said that they weren’t built to standard.
One of the dealers did have a Colt Tactical for $1,200. How does this model compare to the LE6920? Just the M203 capability?
Do you have a model #? I’m not too good with the names.
I have mine up for sale but it has been flawless and would recommend it highly.
I would just find a transfer dealer and get a 6920 off gunbroker or gunsamerica. I do not like the Rock River Arms guns myself but others may. Better than DPMS but not a Colt or LMT. You get what you pay for and sometimes you pay twice. There are a lot of Colt 6920’s out there for sale right now I would get one now if you can.
Heres a link to some on gunbroker, he wants a little more than I paid for mine but I got mine at LEO price. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=76913161
I think the Colt Tactical is model AR6721.
AR6721, “AR-15A3 Tactical Carbine.”

Like the others have said, find a dealer who will do transfers(preferably one of the “informed” folks who told you they couldn’t order it) then find one online. I bought a 6920 from Wild West Guns for $1199 delivered at the beginning of the month another $20 for the transfer and couldn’t be happier.
As to the original question, if you were looking for a 6920, don’t settle for an RRA. If you’re going to “settle” for something else look at LMT, CMMG etc.
Just my $.02
Yyyyaaawwwnnnn … same caca, different day. The odds are you couldn’t tell the difference. I sincerely doubt you’ll ever come close to putting the carbine through enough rounds, crap, and stress to ever come close to making this an issue.
Offer the dealer $10,000 for the 6920. I’ll bet he comes up with one. And since it’s a Colt, you’ll be more than satisfied, right?
Spare me folks, I’ve owned both and I still can’t tell the damned difference.
The thread starter asked a legit question its not fair to jump those giving a answer to it.
So people should just buy half-assed because they’ll never “need” the best? By that logic I guess you’re married to (or only date) ugly women because they “work” just as well as good looking ones? ![]()

I hardly think it’ll take $10k. As has been stated throughout this thread, they are readily available for $1200 to $1300.

Does that say more about the rifles, or you? ![]()
You can’t tell the difference between a Colt and a RRA? ![]()
Well, I can tell you I’ve owned a Colt,Dpms, and currently own a RRA Tactical Entry and you really cant tell the difference. I have come to realize on these posting boards that a lot of people on here find that the cost of a weapon MAKES the weapon. I honestly can say the only weapons Ive ever had problems with were Glocks and Rugers(autos)their revolvers are nice. However, there are other who like these weapons and recommend them…its all personal preference.
Buy what you can afford. And with what options you want.
Good shootin.
Bob
And heeeere we go…
If you can’t tell the difference between a Colt, a RRA and a frikkin’ DPMS you obviously don’t shoot enough.
Funny, Vickers, Rogers and others CAN tell the difference, so who’s word should I take?
Bob
If you can’t tell them apart try to put a Vltor or LMT butttstock on them. Send me the one it fits and I’ll send you a new RR.![]()
If there is no difference, why don’t the all cost $500.![]()
If you can’t tell a difference between a RRA and a Colt I’d say you haven’t shot either one enough. The guy asked a legitimate question and got an answer. He didn’t ask if the RRA was ok to go out to the bench and plink rounds at 100 yards. He asked if there was a suitable substitute for a 6920. It’s not; whether you agree or not doesn’t matter. It’s fact that’s it’s not built to the same standard with the same quality parts.
