Trying to remove and replace forward assist on my ar15 and the roll pin seems stuck. I actually bent my punch without budging the pin. I’ve owned several ar15s but just started getting into working on them, so maybe I’m doing something wrong.
Thanks
Are you using a roll pin punch or just a standard one? If you are using a standard one you may flare the end and make it very difficult to drive out. Some times freezing the upper will help with a tight roll pin as well.

Flat steel punches are used for removing them, roll pin punches are used to install.

You are most likely not pressing in on the forward assist when trying to remove it.

You should always drop a few drops of oil into the hole first before removal.
Thanks for the tips
Yep. You should take the tension off the pin by pushing it in a bit. It should come out fairly easily unless it’s had water corrode it in place.
