Back on Christmas Eve, I visited family to give them presents and enjoy some Holiday cheer. While there, someone at the Christmas party was on their computer in the other room and mentioned they’d found some Lower Part Kits. Note that this is at the height of the scare, so finding a quality LPK without paying insane gunbroker prices was like squeezing water from a rock.
So I threw the pet cat in my lap at the wall, tossed my beer at the now disgruntled cat, jumped up, broke into a full sprint, pushed my wife out of the way, and punched a relative for good measure as I made my way towards the computer (events may be dramatized).
It was true, there were Daniel Defense Lower Part Kits in stock, and for under $100 at rogtac.com. So I hurriedly added two parts kits to my cart, whipped out my credit card, and checked out.
Jump two days to the day after Christmas… I get an email from Mike at ROG Tactical saying my credit card number was incorrect. At this point, I’m back to work - in the thick of Holiday order craziness. So I don’t get to the email until a few days later. I double check my numbers… and it turns out my 3 digit code on the back of the card reads as numbers when upside down (for example : 009 would look like 600). So I’m embarrassed, disappointed, and now the Lower Parts Kits are out of stock. Bad news bears…
Flash forward to last week. I’m browsing around for a B5 Bravo Stock and find one at ROGTAC.com . I add it to my cart, along with some other items. Upon trying to check out, it won’t let me purchase and says the item is out of stock - even though it keeps showing in stock. Frustrated, I ask my wife to contact Mike and see what the problem is, and I go to bed. Turns out, they sold out before I could finish shopping and checking out.
But my wife wakes me up about 15 minutes later. She says “Mike from ROG says he has those two lower parts kits set aside for you still - if you still want them”. So I get up and email Mike back to make sure this is correct. It is. Turns out, since he hadn’t heard back from me, he just left them sitting aside for over TWO MONTHS! Not to mention during two months during the highest period of demand the AR weapon and accessory market has ever seen.
So I paid for the two Daniel Defense Lower Parts Kits and the other stuff, which arrived exactly 3 days later (from California to Michigan). Mike could have easily sold these on GunBroker for double, triple, or even quadruple what I paid during the period he was holding them.
To ice the cake, he gave me a discount code to use as well - making each LPK something like $82. Oh, and the shipping was free! And he threw in a deck of Maxpedition outdoor playing cards (made from PVC so their waterproof - pretty bad ass).
So long story short… I will ALWAYS check with ROG anytime I need AR accessories in the future before looking elsewhere. Not only do they have some of the best prices available, but the owner is a truly stand-up guy. These two things are usually mutually exclusive. To anyone looking for parts… I recommend checking them out. I’ve ordered a few times from them, and each time they have great pricing, fast delivery, and a time or two there have been small little “extras” in with my order (swag that companies probably give to him personally to keep). Google for coupon codes, take advantage of the free shipping, and rest easy that the customer service end isn’t lacking at all.
Mike… I know you’re a member on here. BIG thanks, brother. Wish there were a hundred other dealers who handled their business like you do.
Sorry this post is so long, but I felt a need to describe the exact situation and why I highly recommend rogtac.com .
**I have no relationship outside of being a happy customer with ROG Tactical. I pay for all of my products, and get no special discounts outside of those already publicly available. **
