RMR on top of ACOG - does anyone use it and like it?

I have heard many people dislike the MRD on top of the ACOG. I am curious it anyone actually likes this setup? It would be good to hear the other side of the story.

The criticism is that the MRD on top is too far above the bore. It is tough to use without craning your neck too high.

My reason for having the RMR on top of the ACOG would be for situations where I am indoors at 10 yards or less in poor lighting and moving targets. It would not be a precision sight. So, I don’t think a cheekweld would be important. It would be more of an “oh cr*p!” sight to react to up close threats.

Bonus question - if you did put an RMR on top, would you use the tritium/fiber version or the LED version?

(THIS WOULD BE A 10 YDS OR LESS SIGHT)

Most of on M4C come to the same conclusion, that a offset mount is the ideal way to mount an RMR with an ACOG. You are getting a suboptimal “chin weld” with the RMR on top of the ACOG, where as in a 45 degree offset mount, you just have to slightly rotate the rifle in your shoulder.

food for thought…if it is an “oh crap” up close sight to react to threats, will you have time to get a sight picture with an RMR up top? I think it would be too slow for your reasoning.
