That’s because all the politicians end up in the same, um, party. 
I agree with Todd. My first thought was that it sucks for his family. I like Russert. He was one of the few interviewers that was worth watching. He didn’t just toss out softballs. He asked hard questions regardless of affiliation.
My second thought was this will be another “media suck fest”. They always do this when one of their own dies. Hours upon hours of commentary about the guy. Jim McKay passes and it’s a 24-48 hour story. Hell, Bo Diddley dies and you’re lucky if you get 10 minutes. There’s hardly a rock song made that doesn’t lift at least one Bo Diddley riff for heaven’s sake.
When Cronkite kicks it will be like one of the Kennedy’s passing.
They are saying that Chris Matthews is the likely replacement. From a relative moderate to a Republican hating extremist. Brilliant. :rolleyes:
