I’m looking for something that mounts or adapts to existing safe standoffs that provides more security for my long guns. I’m not looking to hack up or heavily modify my safe. Has anyone used or seen anything that is fairly plug and play to enhance and secure their long guns in the safe?
I have seen where folks have used wooden dowel rods in the barrel of their carbines to extend their length. Some manufacturer makes a system like this that uses wooden dowel rods. When I started having this issue several years ago, I bought a larger safe. That worked for a while. ![]()
I keep contemplating grabbing a couple of these wall mounts from Plastix Plus and mounting them to the center divider in my safe.

They make a 4 AR mount, but the mount posts are spaced REALLY far apart IMO. I think with a couple of the single mounts you can get them packed quite a bit closer together. I think you realistically could get 6 guns in the same space as the 4 AR rack if all you were wanting to do was store them and not necessarily have the easiest, quickest access to them.
I have one of the singles with the magazine storage mounted in my closet for my go-to AR and it works great.
I been using this system for years, works like a charm and doubled my long gun storage…http://www.deansafe.com/rifle-rods-10-pack.html
Thanks for the replies. It isnt space that is the issue. I’m in Southern California (earthquakes) central. I’m really looking for added security or a more secure “lock-in” of the long guns so that if there is a tremor or self induced bump that all the guns dont domino against eachother if that makes sense.
Have you thought of these?? http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Gun-Storage/Sleeves-Camo|/pc/104792580/c/104730480/sc/104576580/Cabelas-Knit-Gun-Socks/741486.uts

You might could just mount one standoff on each end off a wall with an eyelet and run a wooden dowel through each eyelet to secure it
Check out Rifle Rods
Rifle rods are great except if the safe was shaken. The socks will help with the rods for scratches but not dents.
