+1 on the IAP. I’ve only run one now for about four months and while I haven’t done handstands in it, the retention is good, it’s fast and I also found it easy to reinsert a mag. My only concern is the elastic and how long the unit will keeps it’s retention capabilities. Maybe someone who has had one for a while will chime in.
I second the Emdom IAP. I run two of them on my first line belt and I have had no issues with them. I had the same ride height issue with FastMags so I switched to the IAPs and have not regretted it. The IAP can be mounted at different heights so you can adjust it how you want it.
I went through the exact same thing and settled on Esstac KYWI tall (not short), so you can adjust how high they ride. Very secure and easy insertion with Lancers. I put a BFG Ten Speed double (for holding misc things) on the outside and the whole package weighs less than 10 oz.
I have two Eagle FB’s on my belt. Haven’t tried Lancers, but they work well with PMAG’s.
I’ve used both the TACO pouch and the FB pouch on a MOLLE belt. Both worked great for retention but I would give the nod to the FB pouch for re-inserting mags quickly.
