Hey all,
Longtime reader, first time poster.
My Arsenal SGL-21 is at Rifle Dynamics right now gettting the works.
Some things of note are:
The usual Fuller wizardry: (Rear sight, Bolton gas block, ultimak)
AK Battlecomp (I fought myself for a long time going back and forth between FSC47 and AKBC but I’m starting to accept the AKBC)
Krebs Custom Safety with Bolt Hold open.
And now for my question:
I was going to keep the OEM warsaw length buttstock. I have seen several pics of AKMs with a VLTOR or Rifle Dynamics adapter with the Magpul CTR stock (some examples can be seen on RD’s Facebook or on Gabe Suarez’s new TSD AK CQB model). My question is this: Do the ergonomics really improve with a CTR type stock? What do I stand to gain? I use the “modern” shooting stance a-la Haley’s Kalash DVD. I don’t feel like it would make a huge difference but then I’ve never tried that kind of stock before. Its looks to have more material to contact the shoulder area and definately a higher cheekrest. Any input?
