Rifle bag/soft case recommendations

I’m looking for a bag/soft case to carry a 16" carbine, or ideally, a 16" barrel carbine and an 18" barrel shotgun (both with collapsible stocks). The shotgun has no accessories, the carbine will eventually have a light and an optic. I may eventually replace the shotgun with a M&P 15-22, in which case, I’ll definitely need two rifle storage capacity.

This will be used for transport to/from the range. I have a range bag to carry eyes/ears, pistols, ammo, etc., so the rifle bag doesn’t need to have capacity for all that, not to mention it would probably be uncomfortably heavy if I tried to load everything into one rifle bag.

I was at my local Dick’s Sporting goods and picked up a Blackhwak Sporster bag…Plenty of room for an AR and some other pockets for mags, rags, lube, ect…got it for $36.00 in Louisiana.

Anyone familiar with the Midway Tactical Rifle Case? Seems like the 43" bag (exterior measure, taken diagonally) would fit a carbine and an 18" shotgun with collapsible stock.

Cheaper Than Dirt has it as well, but it looks like it will only hold one rifle.

I have the Midway bag and it’s a good bag for the price. It seems pretty durable and there’s a lot of space for other range stuff.

Go with one of these discount Eagle cases. They might be the dominican made models, but are still very well made, if not as good as the American made bags, they are certainly better than most other store brand “tactical” nylon.

Do you have the 35" or 43" bag?

Excluding the main compartment, do you think you could get all of the following in there?
-2 sets of eyes and ears
-small cleaning kit
-2 pistols and mags and 2 mags for each
-staplegun
-a few boxes of ammo
-scope and small tripod (LOL, I realize this is probably pushing it)
-additional room for small items (earplugs, pen, paper, targets, etc.)

Ideally, I’d get a rifle bag that will fit everything for a range trip, so I don’t have to lug both the rifle bag and a pistol range bag.

I have the 35" one. I not sure, but I think the all the sizes are basically the same width and I doubt the tripod and ear pro would fit.

Yeah, I think you’re right that the external compartments are the same size across the different bags.

Thanks. Guess I’ll have to figure something else out.

Make up your mind. Then, hit the threads I posted. Your topic has been beat to death, revived, and beat to death again.

Once I thought about the hassle of carrying two bags to a crowded indoor range, I decided to try to see if I can get one bag that will hold everything. But that may be asking too much of a bag costing well under $100. I know there are some large 3 gun competition bags, but those are fairly pricey.
