RFI: Light mount & switch

I have an older BCM LW Keymod upper that I would like to put a light on. The light is a Modlite of some flavor that I picked up used. It has an Arisaka offset MLOK mount.

Should I go with the same type of mount for keymod or are there some other choices I should consider?

It currently has a tailcap switch which I would like to replace with a remote pressure switch. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated.

I’ve been happy with my Keymod mount from Arisaka.

Arisaka is still one of the top choices.

As of 2023, all remote switches available on the market at any price, except maybe the one that comes on the Cloud Rein, are unreliable and/or delicate. I’m not falling for the “this one is totally robust this time, guys” anymore and am just using tailcaps like it’s 2004.

I’ve been using a Unity Hot button switch and like it, but I don’t 100% trust any wire switch so I run SF DS00 taillcaps for the extra backup switch. I like what I’m seeing with the Unity Gascap but haven’t taken the plunge yet.

A few threads below this one, there are threads on wire management, I believe securing wires from snags plays a pretty big role remote switch survivability.

As far as a mount goes I’d lean to a Gear Sector Offset mount (now produced by ADM) and mount the light to the pic top rail, solid as hell and will place the light at your choice of 1 or 11 o’clock.
