I revised the optics on my AK103k. I installed an Ultimak and then remounted my Aimpoint CompC3 with the low ring. Here are the immediate and obvious advantages;
- Co-witness in lower 1/3
- Shed 10 ounces of weight (eliminated BP-02 mount)
- Easier to reach the charging handle with support hand over the top of the receiver
- No need to remove optic for full, unhindered access to inners when cleaning
- Will be able to use side mount for scope mounting without having to remove RDS

Add a light and VTAC sling and I think you have the perfect AK set up.
One of the best builds I’ve seen.
Thanks, much appreciated!
After moving the Aimpoint to the Ultimak, I spent some time with it at the range this past weekend. Took 6 shots to get it dailed-in at 50, then the first 4 shots at 100 went in under one inch. It doesn’t do that very often, but it was good to see that the Aimpoint was well locked-in to the barrel.
Overall, I have to say that the new optic set up has worked out very well.
