Cast your votes!
Half the Republicans I know are registered as Democrats so they can help sabotage their primaries by voting for the candidate who would most help the Republican Party win. I thought that was clever…
Fred Thompson!
Mitt Romney, but I doubt he will make it far:(
IF Fred runs I’ll vote for him!
If he doesn’t I wont vote because there is no difference between the rinos listed and hildabeast or Oblammo:mad:
I like Ron Paul. Fred comes in second for me, a far cry ahead of all the bigwigs getting media attention right now.
As far as Mitt Wrongey…
Mitt Romney is a 180 degree stance switcher when it came to 2A rights
so I don’t know how he even made it under the radar here. He joined the NRA before announcing candidacy, voted for the Brady Bill and AWB back in '94, and skirts the Brady issue now, yet still supports an AWB and claims Bush does too.
He still hates your EBRs and pushed legislation against them.

“Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts,” Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmen’s groups and gun safety advocates. “These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

Mitt Romney: Yes, and I know the NRA does not support an assault weapon ban. So I don’t line up on that particular issue with the NRA, either does President Bush. He likewise says he supported an assault weapon ban.
So I’m a hunter and believe in Second Amendment rights, but I also believe that assault weapons are not needed in the public population.
We have a gun in one of our homes. It’s not owned by me, it’s owned by my son, but I’ve always considered it sort of mine
He doesn’t score high marks with any of the pro-2A groups. What’s worse than a “2A hunter” Fudd mentality is pretending to be a Fudd. Five of the MA congresscritters co-sponsored HR1022 too…isn’t that all of them? Unless he is a bow hunter or throws rocks at deer, he doesn’t own a gun, yet his son owns a gun, so he considers himself a hunter. I’m not very fond with that state’s elected officials. He also switched stances on abortion, which I don’t particularly feel strongly for or against, but the fact of the matter is he is about as straight as a circle when it comes to standing on issues. At least people with views opposed to mine and a strong record stand by them and I know what to expect. Wronley seems like a mystery grab bag…you never know what you’re gonna get. Maybe they need another Aqua Teen Hunger Force lite-brite in Boston to wake them all up.
I think Newt Gingrich would be the best choice but since he is pretty much unelectable, I would have to go with Thompson…
Fred Thompson, with Ron Paul or J. C. Watts as running mate. Of the others, the conservatives don’t yet have the name recognition, and the ones that do (McCain, Rudy G., and Romney) are too liberal.
Romney stinks. I was never all that impressed with Fred Thompson. I would vote for him though. Come to think of it I would vote for any Republican including ones I despise like Rudy or Romney. A dishrag leftist Republican would be better than ANY of the Dems sitting in the White House w/ a Dem Congress. Unlike us Republicans, the Dems would actually try to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CONTROLLING EVERYTHING and reshape the country as they see fit. If they get it, I hope they will take a page from the Repub manual and sit around, get rich and molest pages.
Sitting out elections is what got us a Dem Congress. Ron Paul is my favorite ideologically. Thompson, barring any skeletons, will be the most electable. It’s sad that pretty much all you have to do to get the nomination is be a Conservative people have heard of and show up. ![]()
+1. Ms. Rice would also make a good running mate.
The above poll didn’t have Thompson as a choice, so I didn’t vote in the poll.
D. None of the above
I will have to agree 100%.
When was the last time you did not want to vote for any of them? The Democrat candidates range from no better to worse. I have the funny idea the 2008 election is going to suck for Americans.
I’m not a republican (or a member of any other party), but on that list Ron Paul is far and away the best choice, probably of any we’ve had in decades.
Unfortunately he’s also unelectable.
I agree with him on just about everything (that I know about) except his position on the war in Iraq. However, since RKBA is my #1 issue that eclipses all others combined, he’s clearly the right man.
If you choose none of the above, I think we’d like to ask what your nominee of choice would be.
Yes!!!![]()
I have to agree… The party is really lacking a candidate that the country will get behind. Thompson could be that candidate, but who really knows.
Remind your democrat Friends (that is if you have any) that the country will have been run for the last 2 decades by 2 different family names. If the hildabeast goes in 08 then we will have to endure almost 3 decades of it (if she makes it once she most likely will get re-elected, the country did slick willy for 2 terms). Republican or Damorat, that is to much like a monarchy.
I am so tired of the “lesser of two evils” selection that we’ve been faced with and I really don’t want to have to cast my vote in November 08 for an “Other Than Hillary” candidate. I want to cast it for a man I really believe in. While Reagan was THE man…I find it very hard to believe that there aren’t any other’s out there who can’t step into his shoes. I find myself very excited by the possibility, albiet slight, chance that he’ll throw his name in the running.
We do that ALL the time in Virginia. Anybody can vote in the primaries here.
Fred Thompson
Damn Skippy.
