I want to replace the plastic type buffer on my Colt 6931. Not sure what I need. With the plastic buffer, I hear a weird sprong noise, that does not sound right. Thanks for your help.
You will hear a “weird” spring noise with any AR rifle. Its just the spring moving quickly within the buffer tube.
Some have used oil or grease to help muffle the sound but after awhile you’ll come accustome to it.
This noise is different then on any other AR I have ever fired. The only thing different being, I have a plastic buffer in my rifle.
All of my guns sproing!
Don’t count on a buffer change stopping this, but definitely ditch that shitty buffer.
Embrace the sproing! when you don’t hear it or feel it, you know your bolt is locked back and it is time to reload.
Alright, I know there will always be noise associated with the buffer system. Now back to the question, what buffer do I replace my plastic buffer with.
An H buffer from BravoCompanyUSA: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/H-Carbine-Buffer-p/buffer%20carbine%20h.htm.
My M&P came with an H buffer is it worth upgrading to a buffer tech hydralic one?
Nope.
Agreed.
