I wanted to replace the screws on a BM BCG i got a few months back and was wondering if I replaced them one at a time would i need to re-seal the key to the carrier?
The gas key screws shouldn’t need replacing unless they are broken. Make sure that they are properly staked, and you should be good to go.
Personally I always remove the key completely, degrease it and the carrier then lap the mating surface of the carrier key on a whetstone, degrease it again then apply Rockett on the mating surface, install new screws, torque each to 55in lbs and stake with a MOACKS tool. Never had one come lose nor ever broken a screw this way and I’ve done probably 1K this way.

But yeah I just wanted to upgrade the screws because i have heard some bad things about the ones that come standard on the BM carrier. It’s just going in a frankengun but its a cheap upgrade so why not?
