Reoccurring dreams

I’m sure most of us have them, the most common two I have are forgetting my combination for my locker in high school and forgetting about a class in college and not showing up until the final. I’m 31 years old so these aren’t actual concerns just common dreams I have.

One I have had recently is I dream about a home intruder breaking in so I grab my weapon (it varies between handgun and AR in my dream) and I go to shoot and nothing happens…no bang etc. In my dream I can vividly recall going through immediate/ remedial action drills to go the gun to work and I keep pressing the trigger and nothing happens. Wonder what in the world subconsciously that means.

Anybody else have that type of “gun” dream?

Better hope sleepwalking doesn’t enter the equation since you dream your pulling the trigger on your gun. I’d keep all guns locked up and out of reach if Id dreamt that.

From what I’ve read, I’ve had similar dreams, you feel you need to train more or your training is substandard.

Have similar dream, except can’t pull trigger no matter how hard I try, will not budge. I also have reacuring dream about Jessica Alba but we’ll leave that one alone for right now.

had a dream for a few times a animal was attacking my kids and I would shoot it and bullets acted like a red ryder bb gun ! pop not much was a bad dream to have a few times

now when I was younger I could control my dreams go back into them at night when I wanted and dreamt for a few years about sailing the oceans as a pirate  and was quite fun

I’ve have that dream too, bullets fired but with no effect.

I’ve had a recurring nightmare a few times that I was still married…

I had a lot of dreams of weapon malfunctions, ineffective bullets, missing and running out of ammo, when I was new to defensive tactics. As my training progressed and I really began to master my weapons of choice, the dreams changed to that of effective employment of firearms. After a couple of years, I stopped dreaming about shooting people… it’s been the better part of a decade since I’ve dreamed about shooting anyone.

I used to have one where my pistol would malfunction and nothing would get it running. I sold my Kimber and bought an M&P. Now in my dreams the gun works but I can’t hit shit.

I had a dream that my wife bought me a Kimber that had been painted. When I woke up I made sure she knew I would not approve of that gift.

Why do I get the vibe that I’m reading a self help forum about male ED??

Get it? Lololol…

I have had one where I am frozen stiff cant react cant reach for my gun cant do anything. I wake up breathing really hard almost like when you get knocked out.

To dream that a gun jams or fails to fire indicates that you are feeling powerless in some waking situation. Perhaps you need to attack your problems from a different approach. Alternatively, a malfunctioning gun represents sexual impotence or fear of impotence.

I guess my latent erectile dysfunction cured itself.

Whenever I have to use a gun in a dream, the trigger is like a staple gun and nothing happens.

I had a really weird dream a few months back that I was at my grandfathers house on his sun porch and there was a giant white ram in a field behind his house (which is weird too since it’s all woods behind his house). I shot at it with my Glock, but the bullets had some sort of extreme windage thing going on and I couldn’t manage to hit him in the three rounds I fired. I woke up right as he was about to impact me with his horns. Only dream I can remember that ever involved a gun.

Hmm… actually… while we’re doing dream show-and-tell… I do remember a fairly recent gun dream. I caught my wife in bed with another man. All I had was a J-frame (which I don’t even own), but I promptly pulled it and put 4 graphically effective rounds through the guy’s torso as he thrashed and scrambled to get out of the room. I believe he collapsed just outside the bedroom door. My wife sat on her legs on the bed, hands over her face, nude and terrified as I swing the weapon around and leveled it at her head. I hesitated for a heartbeat or two, and pulled the trigger. She shied off to the side at just the last moment, and my last round went harmlessly into the bed. I don’t know what happened after that, if anything.

Interpret that one.

I’d say you need to work on either your trigger control or grip, but that’s just a guess without actually watching you shoot.

She moved!

Dude, that is square range thinking. You’re much better trained than that.

In a dynamic time is life critical incident stress tactical operation, you have to operate on the move.

C’mon, you already know this stuff.
