Removing the logo from your rifle

I was certainly surprised by the reaction to this this post. I thought it was an interesting experiment and I thought I’d share my results with the community. Obviously some think it has value, others don’t. But I would suggest that you don’t post anything that you wouldn’t say to a man’s face. I don’t hide behind a keyboard, I will be at the SHOT Show this year if anyone wants to talk this shit to my face.

All I have to say is that if you don’t have your rifle in the fight right now, then everything you are doing with your rifle is hobbyshop bullshit. Before you laugh at me or anyone else at arfcom or whatever, take a good look in the mirror.

Well I didn’t stick up for you individually but I’m sure you can tell from my post that you have my support. I am sorry you were surprised by the reaction you received from many here. I’m not surprised – many here… well, I’ve already said my piece. Moving on.

I truly hope that none of you are seriously concerned with what someone els does to their rifle in this regard. Especially someone like Diz.

No, we aren’t seriously concerned but we do have opinions.

ETA: Ooops. I just saw that Diz seems to be offended. I didn’t mean to offend- I figured this thread was just going to go down a bad road either way.

Personally, if I don’t like the logo of a rifle I just don’t buy it. If it really matters to you, buy something else. If it doesn’t matter then that’s great or better.

Most people don’t have a problem with their rifle’s logo and the ones that really do have other options that aren’t as involved.

You seemed to have done a good job but it does seem like a lot of work for almost nothing. I happen to have a rifle with a rollmark I actually like and it took no work on my part and it’s not modified in anyway that would inhibit the resale of it at a later date.
