Removing flash hider placed with rocketset

I should know better. I have an upper with an old AAC muzzlebreak for a QD suppressor that was sealed with rockettset(sp?) I would love to place a new Blackout flashhiider/QD suppressor attachment, but on my first shot on removing - no-dice, just made the everything else turn.

Before I take this to the next level, just want to verify with this estemed group that applying a good few wacks to the back of the muzzlebreak with a hammer/punch combo should do it.

Any other recommendations more than welcome.

Submerge it in water for 24hrs and then try it again. Not less than 24hrs.

Wow - never thought water - will do and thanks as always!

Are you clamping the FSB in a vise?

I would also apply a good solvent, could even use WD40, to help loosen the Rocksett. Methylene Chloride, or paint stripper, is suppose to be useful for Red Loctite, so could also help.

The water has worked everytime for me.

would this qualify as “permenantly attached” for ATF comliance?

lmao that awsome!

No, Rocksett doesn’t have a really strong tinsel strength. Usually you can bust through it with just a wrench. If someones put a lot on, the 24hrs submerged in water breaks it down and allows it to be removed much more easily.

Perm. attached is pin/welded (what I do) or silver-soldering.
