I have a pinned comp on my 14.5 barrel using the stock barrel nut. Is it possible to remove the entire barrel assembly, barrel nut included, without removing the pinned comp?
You can loosen the barrel nut, but you cannot remove it completely. That is one down side to permed barrels. Why do you want to remove it?
Thanks. I wanna use the barrel on another build with the Centurion Arms C4 rail. I don’t want to remove the barrel nut, I wanna remove the whole assembly to put on another upper. The current upper the barrel is on is cerakote’d a custom color to match the rail and lower otherwise I would just swap out the rails.
Yes you can remove the barrel and install it on another upper. Don’t screw it up, go read everything you can on doing builds if you plan on doing it yourself.
To install a C4, you don’t need to remove the permed MD. Since you’re taking the barrel off the upper, you can easily remove the ring and spring from the barrel nut. You will, however, have to snip off the HG cap.
