Remingtons .30AR

Anybody have any experience with the .30AR? Been thinking about one for deer hunting but it doesn’t seem like it has caught on much. Care to share your experiences with it and real world velocity vs. book velocity.

I too have been waiting to here more on this. I would buy an upper if someone other than rem was making it.

I just have to input spec’s from Remington:

125gr bullet + 24" barrel = 165gr bullet 20" barrel…:stuck_out_tongue:

Who wants an AR with a long 24" barrel to take advantage of a light weight projectile???

I’d rather get a 6.8 with 16" barrel and roll on!!!

Anybody know if you can make .30AR from brass for a different cartridge?

They are made from the .30 Thompson Center cases.

I am waiting for someone to neck it down to 6.5 mm then I want to give the new cartridge a try.

Ya but thats just posted specs on one factory produced round. Handloaders will have alot more options.

Hmmm, thanks. I’m concerned that if it doesn’t take off then in 10-15 years no ammo or brass. I don’t think the .30TC is setting any sales record either is it?

is it even avaiable yet?

Ck out the .30RAR thread on the 6.8 forum in the General Firearms section http://www.68forums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14537

Thanks.

Intersting reading over there.
