Anyone use them? Know much about them? Can compare them to other 230 gr rounds?
My 1911 likes them better than Hornady XTPs, and they certainly make bigger holes in the 2x4s that are behind my paper targets, but that’s about all I know about them.
Of course, I’ve only fired 3 different rounds through this gun, PMC Ball, Hornady XTP and these, so I don’t have much experience with the different ammos for comparison’s sake.

The 230 grain Golden Saber load is widely recognized for having the worst muzzle flash of any handgun round on the market. That’s kind of a big deal if you are trying to fire the weapon in low light.
As for ballistic performance, IIRC it does OK, but since it isn’t on DocGKR’s list then it must have some issues.
I agree the Canon Speedlite (strobe/flash) for my Canon 50D has a lot less flash than Remington Golden Saber. 
For .45 I like the Winchester 230gr PDX1 Bonded.
It’s a dated round. Good in it’s time but not great if the shootee is wearing layers of clothing as it tends not to expand.
my only experience with them was in 9mm. it wasnt a good one since it could have potentially gone a whole other direction. any other caliber however i have no experience with.
For .45 I recommend Speer Gold Dots or Federal HSTs.
Actually, that’s what I recommend for every caliber.
Here’s what I carry:
.380auto = Magtech 90gr FMJ
9mm = Winchester PDX1 147gr Bonded JHP
.357SIG = Speer Gold Dot 125gr JHP
.40S&W = Federal HST 180gr JHP
.45ACP = Winchester PDX1 230gr Bonded JHP
No love for the .40 S&W PDX1?
I like the 230Gr. Fed HST but the Winchester Bonded is a great round.
Just don’t have any but I do have access to 180gr Federal HST.
IIRC it was something about jacket separation when encountering intermediate barriers like auto glass.
i prefer Federal HST, Winchester ranger, or PDX1 Bonded.
The bonded version of the bullet is supposed to have taken care of that issue. They can be found (I have a box of 185gr bonded that I picked up, but I carry 230gr Gold Dots) occasionally, but I have not seen them in abundance.
I have them for my 9mm but I mainly use Federal Tactical loads.
