yeah… love the gun… but the finish BLOWS. i mean… wow. anyone have any trouble with the coating on the gun peeling? terrible… anyhow… it gives me a reason to paint it! 
yeah i scratched mine real easy:D it is a good reason to paint,no peeling but handling it and throwing it around shows wear fast
everyone is having problems with that new finish. i just sent mine back to remington. they told me it would be 5 weeks to get the gun back with a new paint job.
I would strip the finish off. There is a nice parkerized finish under the cheap coating.

Yes! The 870 is very simple to take apart. That’s one reason why so many love it.
