Remington 700 SPS Tactical: floor plate issues with B&C stock

Hey guys,

I picked up a Bell and Carlson Light Tactical Medaliststock for my Remington 700 SPS Tactical (.223) to replace the Hogue overmold stock that it came with.

However, upon installation, I noticed that if I opened the magazine floor plate, I wouldn’t be able to close it. I think it may be because it’s too tight of a fit, but before I break out the dremel and try to “fix” it, I want to ask the community if this sort of occurrence is common and what action should I take.

Thanks.

Call BNC. Maybe they can assure you. It probably is tight because better tight than loose.

Your bottom metal should be tight, your magazine box however should be loose. You do not want it binding on the sides of the stock. I would suggest at the very least skim bedding your new stock.
