Got a 1100 Tac 4 and I want to put on a red dot optic on the receiver. What rail mounts do you guys recommend?
If your Tac-4 is already factorydrilled/tapped there is a specific Weaver rail that will fit it. I don’t recall the exact # but You could probably find out via Remington’s website. If it were me, I would get Mesa Tactical’s rail/side saddle. I had a Mesa rail for my Tac-2 but I sold both before I ever installed it so I can’t tell you how it worked but I can tell you it was made well.
badger ordinance makes one that the brownells catalog says will fit factory tactical models hole spacing part no. 093-000-030BE. i was thinking vang comp made one too but i can’t find it at the moment. Mike

sorry snake doctor i did not even look at the price. i just remembered seeing a rail that would fit your application. i did see it is steel and i think they have a good rep for quality. downside is i guess it would weight more than an aluminum one. i still can’t remember where i saw the vang comp rail though. Mike
thanks for looking it up mike. btw, what optics are guys using on 1100’s. i saw a j-point that mounts on the ribbed barrel but cant find it online.

there was an article in swat not to long ago were the guy was running a t-1 on his 870. i don’t see much difference in it and an 1100. in the optics section of this site they are discussing a t-1 copy that is significantly cheaper and is getting pretty good reviews for a low budget optic iirc but i do not know how it would stand up to the shotgun.
