Years past I loaded a lot of .223 for my AR. however the reloading equipment has been packed away for a while due to career and family considerations, I have been unpacking and refurbishing my reloading equipment lately and want to get some updated Reloading manuals.
I want to get at least one manual that has a good amount of information on loading .223/5.56 ammo, or is there such a beast out there.
Can any one suggest a manual that has a lot of good late information for this purpose or do I just need to pick up several manuals and surf the the web sites for information.:thank_you2:
I use this data from Hodgdon. Once your in the proper screen fill in the caliber and bullet weight and they have quite a bit of accurate date that I have personally loaded and shot. Most of them have performed excellent in 4 different AR’s for me.
So Cabela’s or Sportsmans Warehouse sell this localy. The Complete Reloading Manual for the .223 Remington (One Book, One Caliber) [Paperback] I have also posted a link on Amazon. Good book. Even goes gun specific.
I also purchased The Complete Reloading Manual for the .223 Remington (One Book, One Caliber) [Paperback]. Has all the info you need under one cover, Great Choice!!!
This is the only reloading manual I’ve seen that has data developed using a Colt chamber. Is it actual 5.56 pressure?? - very likely not; and that’s probably a good thing. Still better than data developed using a .223 chamber.
Thanks for the replies guys, All my manuals are from the late 70’s, early 80’s
and I wanted to get an idea on where to start, I have about 5 manuals that I used then and I wanted to spread out over time the purchase of the new updated versions as they have not gotten any cheaper, I just wanted to get an Idea where to start that would give me the biggest bang for the buck:laugh:
