??? ref installing M4 stock - which buffer?

Hey all,

Gonna be removing the standard buttstock from my BM and installing the milspec BCM kit with M4 stock/receiver extention.

It comes with a “carbine” buffer. Options other than this are H, H2 or H3.

My BM currently has a 16" BM dissy as an upper - so a carbine gas system. But I may soon get a second upper for this rifle, a BCM middy. I’ll swap these uppers off and on most likely.

Which buffer would best suit my needs with these two uppers (a carbine gas and a middy gas) being used on it?

I shoot standard 55 or 62gr ammo 99% of the time.

I’d go with an H2 with a Bushmaster (overgassed) barrel.

Thanks M4, I appreciate the info and quick reply…

FWIW I have a 16’’ WOA medium contour stainless steel barrel with mid length gas system. I am using a carbine buffer and spring with a MOE butt stock. I have never had any issues a but was wondering from those here with more AR knowledge than I, if a heavier buffer would be better for the guns over all longevity or provide other benefits.
