Looking forward to this already! Looking into flights now and all the other arrangements. Looking forward to being back in AK and visiting with the guys from the Basic Carbine course.

Is the current plan to include no/low light? I’ve always been interested in that as I don’t have the opportunity to do that much at the home range.

The description lists 500 carbine and 100 pistol (simlarly the Basic Handgun lists 500 pistol). Are these set? Or will the round counts be looked at again in the months/weeks leading up to the course? That is if ammo pricing and availability improved between now and then.

Just curious as I am trying to make arrangements for ammo for both the basic handgun and combat carbine courses. I left the ammo that I had remaining after the basic carbine course last Sept in hunt_ak’s trusting hands and just getting a feel for how much more I will need.

Low light/no light will be late at night that time of year  Sunset will be at 22:51

Book yourself for a couple extra days if you can. We’ll find something fun to do.

If you have the option, I would bring extra ammo. I have reformatted the course curriculum to reflect 500 rounds. But, if you have extra and are happy to shoot extra then by all means bring it.

I will send out an email to all students updating them on the ammo requirements for the course.

We hope to see production of ammo increase by that time and prices return to some type of normalcy. Fingers crossed!!

You and me both!!

That is a little late to stick around for a night shoot. But I’d be willing.

I’m still trying to work out how many vacation days I will have available. Looking forward to AK already!

We are fighting an AWB bill here in Hawaii. Word is that the bill doesn’t look to go anywhere, but still. So keeping my fingers crossed for that to go away and for ammo pricing and availability returning to fall 2012 normalcy!

Add Doug and I do that sentiment!
