Recommendations for a 16" barrel that is light?

I’m gathering components for a lighter walk-around upper and would like to hear from users who have utilized different lightweight barrels. I’m currently debating between an Odin works, a fluted Paul Howe barrel, a Wilson Combat Ranger, and a Faxon match gunner. I’m aiming to stay under 24 oz. Are there any others I ought to think about? I appreciate your support.

Slightly over your weight, but worth it and it is in stock…

BCM® BFH 16" Mid Length (ENHANCED LIGHT WEIGHT) Barrel, Stripped (.625)

I have had pretty good results with the BA barrels… they shoot well and are light and come with a GB. They are on sale as well.

Hanson Profile is my preferred choice…but it is available in Modern Series as well…Not sure of you budget

Another solid choice

This! These barrels are balanced beautifully. I have the 14.5"

All of the above. BCM, BRT, BA all make good stuff, its a really great time for AR parts in general honestly

BA .625 pencil should be gtg.

Another one if you don’t mind the wait would be the Criterion Core.

I am also a fan of the BCM ELW barrels. You didn’t mention what handguard you are using. If you don’t have one yet the best single weight reduction move you could make is a BCM upper with their lightweight handguard and ELW barrel.

Sister shop to V7, which makes some wicked stuff

For the money, BA’s .625 Hanson is tough to beat. R2B has them on sale right now as well.

I recently got the BCM hammer forged elw 14.5” mlok upper. I put an aimpoint H2 on it and that thing shoots really well. It balances even better. Don’t see why the 16” version would be any different

I had some accuracy issues and gassing issues with a couple of Faxon barrels in the past… I would agree with Faxon being light, but the other issues overshadowed MY experience with them. YMMV…

Lots of good choices as mentioned here but as BA is currently on sale on their website… I would go with the Hanson or Modern Series if it was my $$.

As I noted, the BRT, BCM ( excluding their BFH barrels) and others mentioned should be GtG… now you just need to decide where your budget is.

I never did any accuracy testing with my 16" gunner but for what I paid for it I shouldn’t have had to drop another $65 to not have to use an A5H4 buffer.
