so the ‘plan’ is 20" barrel, billet upper, Young MFG BCG, magpul PRS, Bi-pod and the typical goodies…
this will be my mid-range reach-out rifle…
so what scope do you suggest? oh and lets try to keep it under 450
I’ve been going through the same decision with a new 20" bipod build that I want to set up as a 300m rifle. I started out by looking at 1-4x class optics, but now I’m thinking something like the new Nikon M-223 2-8x or one of the multitude of 3-9x scopes. My budget is similar to yours.
What scopes have you been considering so far?
Leupold is probably going to get you the best glass for that price. I’ve HEARD some great things about vortex, too.

A friend of mine has one, and I think it’s a good scope.
Take it with a grain of salt, but I’d check out the rating scale here and use that to narrow down the field to a few scopes worth checking out live at a store:

With a $450 budget you might look at the following: Bushnell Elite 4200, Leupold VX-3, Nikon Monarch & Monarch X, Zeiss Conquest
but why are leapers and tasco at the bottom? :rolleyes: lol
just talked with our GM and he pointed me towards the leupold AR series in 3-9X
