Recommend a 2-piece Quad-rail CAR-length drop-in

Don’t want chinese airsoft knock-off crap or high-end stuff; medium price point is fine.

Going on a S&W MP15 5.56. Need built-in QD sling mount and quality rail covers. Not for LEO or Military application.

Try them out … decent stuff, reasonable price

Here are some options…

Troy Industries makes a drop in rail that meets your specifications.

The Daniel Defense Omega is a drop in free float design - probably best in class, but a bit pricier.

Due to the way it is mounted i believe Centurion Arms would be a great choice, it also fits your specs.

I agree with the Troy

I’ve been looking for one too. Thanks for the tips. I think I’m liking the MI Gen 2 FF. For $150 (carbine), it sounds real reasonable. Cutting off the Delta ring and spring doesn’t sound to bad either.

I’ve got the 12" MI Free Float. It was easy to install and it is solidly mounted. Good value. I’ll probably get another one for my M4.

If you don’t care about free floating then I think ebay would be best for this, you can find guys selling “extra” Knights Armament systems on the cheap. There are several up for auction right now, with the cheapest one currently at $46. Check it out…

MI has had rail spec problems… plus they’re heavy and fat. I run a 2 piece FF on one SBR… Just haven’t got around to changing it out…

It’s not too bad of a rail. But there’s a lot of screws and parts by today’s rail standards.

if i were in the market for a non free float drop in rail that was well made but not overpriced, i’d spring for the mi gen II drop in:

has some great features not seen in too many drop in rails. the qd sockets, light weight, and dimensions are right on.

You can get Troy drop in rails off of eBay for ~ $120. They are a solid rail for a fairly cheap price.

I have had good luck with my Daniel Defense EZ rails. They are light but very sturdy and normally run for around $140.

Ive had a troy 7"carbine on my sbr for three years now. It is still solid as a rock.

I also just put a Troy 9" on my Middy.

Like has been said, look on ebay…

Thanks guys, have looked at most of the ones mentioned. I will get a short list together and post back on what I pick up.

I would go with Troy, DD, MI - they the most durable and reliable for the price point … DD being the more prestige out of the the three

I use the Troy 2 piece FF rail. Solid piece and the install was fairly quick. It also requires removal of the delta ring…

Yahtzee. Rainier has them in stock, and you couldn’t ask for easier assembly. 4 rotation limited QD points.

If all you really need is a sling mount how about an MOE hand guard and an IWC QD Micro Flush QD Sling Mount?

I’ve got an MOE/IWC package FS in the EE should you chose to go that ^ route
