I have some spare parts i was going to throw together into a build, i was wondering who runs a barrel with M4 extension on a standard uncut A3 upper.
How well does it do? Any issues? Looks like it would be fine
i’ve used that combo before and it was fine. it’s the other way around (standard extension, M4 cut receiver) that causes problems, where the extension overhangs the feed ramps.

Have you ever seen an Air Force GUU-5P? They are built with every conceivable combination of barrel and upper. M4 and carbine extensions barrels are commonly mated to M16, A1, and A2 uppers. They work just fine. As MM stated the M4 upper with a rifle barrel extension is where you will have problems.
