RE: Finally Decided

Well after reading as much as I could over the last two weeks, I finally put in an order about 10 minutes ago for the Eotech EXPS3-0 from Marshall at Primary Arms. I have not seen any reviews on this particular model but I will try and contribute what I can (99.999% of the people on here know more than me). I can’t wait to get my grubby mitts on it!

I have been going back and forth between the Eotech and the Aimpoint. I had the chance to handle both and for my eyes I preferred the Eotech reticle. I would not have been unhappy with an Aimpoint by any means and the battery life is just unreal.

Great choice, you’ll really like it. The transverse battery configuration really brings the Eotech into its own IMO.

With the XPS, EOTech finally got it right - smaller footprint, more reliable, better battery life, same great reticle.

Why the 3-0 over the 2-0 - will you get to use it with NOD?

I really like my XPS so much that I have another one on order.

TehLlama,

I am just a civilian recreational shooter so I wasn’t too worried about Night Vision capability. I liked the built in mount and side buttons on the EXPS just in case I decide to add the magnifier later on.

Here is a group I just shot with an XPS. 10 rnds. rapid, no mag, 30 sec. :

Several trips with no zero shift and appears to do it’s job.

Q-1,

I would be thrilled with those results.

Thanks man!

The EoTech has landed! Texas to Oregon in less than 3 days. Time to put it on the rifle.

What is the point of shooting a group fast. Not that 10 rounds in 30 seconds is fast. If you are trying to see how accurate your rifle is its best to take your time and make each shot perfect.
Pat

You are right on both counts. There was no point, and it wasn’t that fast. I’ve been doing this for about 25 yrs… through 6 yrs. of USMC Force Recon , and ever since. I know how to shoot a group if that’s what I want to do.

Since you asked - I was at the range to sight in a new Smith Enterprise Crazy Horse M14. I was the only one at this range, so after several groups with the M14, I just pulled the LWRCI out briefly simply to give the barrel on the M14 some time to cool… just wasting time in other words, you know - playing around.

The OP said he had decided on an EOTech, I was just illustrating what the EOTech is capable of even when someone is just playing around for a minute.

Is that OK with you?
