Looking for a good mount for an RDP-II red dot I have. The standard screw mount it has blows and doesn’t hold up very well.
Hmmm, we do not see many issues for the mount…but ARMS #17DR, as well as the Larue counterpart will do well for FT risers. Also, any Doctor Optics mounts will work as the RDP uses the same footprint. Hope this helps.
Victor the RDP is the one I got from you. I have it hooked up to my Benelli M1. The problem is the screw somes loose and almost falls off the rail. It was the only thing I could really afford to buy from you. I wish I could get some NVG (Hint…Hint…Black Friday sale!!)
Roger that, have your tried Loctite, we always recommend the blue bottle. ![]()
Victor since we’re talking about the RDP-II here, I wanted to ask a quick question about it. I understand the intended purpose of this sight(training rnge rifle), but I just wanted to ask about the reliability of the electronics in it. If I were to get an RDP-II and just mount it on a hobby rifle that won’t ever get used hard, will the sight last me a good while and not suddenly die like a lot of cheap red dots do? I wouldn’t mind being able to have a red dot on a few guns, but can’t justify buying a bunch of aimpoints for them.
Great question…
We’ve had customers with these sights on their guns for over 2 years now, and we’ve had VERY good success with the units. I routinely go to my local range with many folks still using the units on their bolt guns scopes (our SAR’s and RDP for 1x sighting roles) and it seems even with the semi heavy recoil of .308’s, so far so good for all of them. We do not have many warranty returns of these units as well. Hope this helps.
Edited, also I’ve also had my units on two 10-22’s and a MKIV for almost two years as well…My family shoots the heck out of these every month and they are still a joy for them to shoot with.
Thanks. Sounds like a decent little sight for the money. I especially like the idea of adding them to scoped guns since they would be cheap enough to do it(might be handy on a coyote gun).
