RAS II Question

Hello,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I woud like to put a rail on my AR. Money is short, and I would like to free float if I can. I’m looking at the KAC RAS II. Quality and price are right. My question is, with the hump I woud place my CompM4s. On my current setup I have a Troy Industries Fixed Battle Sight which cowitnesses with my Aimpoint in it’s factory mount. I’ve very happy with the cowitness, so I’d like to try to keep that. If I remove the spacer on the standard Aimpoint mount, and mount it to the hump, will the height be different? I’ve tried calling KAC but I’m aways told to leave a message. I left a couple of emails as well, and just cannot get an answer. I’ve read opinions about this rail on this site. I know it has it’s restrictions because of the design, but I’m not trying to get too fancy, and I’m very pleased with my Aimpoint, so that option I will not be changing. I have standard handguards on my AR. I never thought a vertical grip would be comfortable to use. I recently was shooting my friends that has a rail and grip setup, and found it very comfortable, and maybe even a little better control, so that’s the reason for my change. I would love to go Centurion, but that’s not an option now. The RAS II is going for $150 on the website with grip panels and a vertical grip. That’s not a bad deal. Thanks for all the help,
