range report with pics--custom champion operator

hi, my friends. just wanted to show you guys what i’ve done

i have about 1,300 rounds through my champion operator. i can put 4 rounds into one hole at 25 yards with a two hand hold. this thing is exceedingly accurate, and has never jammed, even upon test firing it for the first time after fitting the new parts.

i fit these parts:

ed brown short reach match grade trigger
cylinder&slide ultramatch disconnector
ed brown hardcore extended mag release
ed brown hardcore slide stop
EGW hex mag release lock
wilson combat bulletproof thumb safety
wilson combat bulletproof extractor
wilson combat bulletproof firing pin stop plate
VZ operator II grips

Excellent work man, it looks like perfection to me.

So I feel compelled to ask. What’s with the SN and avatar? You have an obsession or what? LOL Sorry, I could not help myself.

lol thanks

Nice blaster !

thank you, kind sir

4 rounds into one hole at 25 yards? i woudl love to see that…you realize that a .45 is roughyl a .5" whole…I don’t think in fact i know your not making a .5" group at 25 yards…especially with a production gun such as that…i don’t even think a ransom rest coudl achieve that.

who said i made a perfect 1/2 inch hole?

you’re overthinking this

Is that a Commander size pistol, or Officer?

springfield’s “champion” size, which is a 4 inch barrel/slide, and a full size frame.

Very nice pistol.

very cool.

Damn!! That’s one seriously nice Champ Operator you have there!

I hate when people have to make comments such as those. I believe you could do that bcz I know for sure I can’t. My best is 3"-5" groups at 25 yards with my MC Operator!

hey i think i just got your post on 1911forum too

thank, my friend

Very Nice!

Nice!

Yeah you did

That’s the other place I lurk and go by the SN Desert1911

please do not “call bullshit” on my beloved board.

nice work.
Did you have any issues with the factory parts or was replacing the slide stop to get the SS contrast?
I fit a EB stop once, and the pin section where it meets the flat was curved instead of a flat “T” and it was a real pain to fit that section down. Most Ive seen are flat there and you need only fit the diameter of the pin.

thanx, my friend.

i had to take down the slide stop pin slightly, because the frame holes where it fits on the champion operator are smaller than normal. i assume this is because it’s an alloy frame, and they’re alloting for wear. i just wrapped some 320 grit sandpaper around the pin and turned it a couple times till it fit perfectly.

the part was flat though, no curves. i would have sent i back to brownells if the pin was not at a 90 degree angle.
