I got to take my new M&P15T out to the range to shoot a local 3 gun match today. That thing ran like a top! No failures of any kind. I was very pleased. I shot mostly Remington UMC 55gr. fmj and some S&B 55gr fmj from 2 20 rd NHMTG and 1 30 rd NHMTG mags.
Unfortunately, a fellow shooter was also shooting a M&P15T. He had lots of trouble with a sticking ejector. His was dirty and dry and I think his mags were in pretty bad shape too. All the same, I hope he is able to get it running.
My rifle, on the other hand, worked like magic. This was my first 3 gun match and I think I’m hooked.
Good deal. BTW, how did you like the Remington? I bought some and the accuracy was not good at all. I bought 350rds of S&B and it shoots a lot better in my gun.
I shot both Remington and S&B to sight in the gun. I honestly couldn’t tell much of a difference. I bought the UMC because it was the cheapest decent stuff I could fine locally. Some gun shops had Wolf and the like but I didn’t want to go there. I found UMC for $5.99 at a local mega-sporting guns chain.
A fellow shooter’s Colt had fits with some S&B at the 3 gun match. Mine ran fine though. In fact, I’ve always had pretty good luck with S&B.
