I have performed a search for this information, but I did not find any threads that fully answered my question. So…
If I have a 14.5" carbine-length upper with a standard FSB and a permanently-attached flash hider, what current rail systems/handguards can be attached without the need to remove the flash hider? Also… what ones can be attached without the need to remove the FSB?
Typically the only reason for removing the flash-hider is so that you can remove the FSB or gas block, so the second question negates the first.
There are several options, but the real secondary question is whether you’re willing to cut off the delta ring in the process or not. If not, your options are limited, if so, your optens are greater.
ETA:
above assumes free-float. With the availability of these systems there is no reason/benefit to legacy rail systems that don’t also get you a free-float.
There’s also the MOE. Cheap, can add rails, installs like regular handguards, and light weight. Just make sure it fullfills your needs first. You won’t have nearly the rail space like on the aforementioned ones.
