Rail removal with perm vortex?

I have a Noveske N4 Low profile 14.5 inch with a perm attached vortex. I am thinking about switching (or should I say paying a competent armorer to) from the 11’’ SWS rail to a 9 or 12" DD lite rail. Is this possible? Will the vortex have to be removed? Thanks.

Yes, the pinned Vortex will have to be removed to get the gas block and barrel nut off and then of course the new ones on.
