Got a Noveske 16.1" 6.8 recon, and am looking for thoughts on a rail system. Looking to keep the rifle fairly light for hunting. I have a Larue 13.2 on a noveske 18"spr, and find it to be fairly heavy. I was looking at the DD lite 12" rails in particular. Anyone running this setup? Or have any suggestions? Do DD rails have a sling attachment? Any pics?

Why a full 12"? I think a 10" DD would be really light and offer good rail space…or, since it’s a huntin’ rig, a TROY TRX 11" for even lighter weight (not to mention less $) and can still put on rails.
Rails are a lot like stocks, in that they’re a pretty subjective thing. We can tell you which ones are quality rails and which aren’t but we can’t know which one you’ll like. I personally really like VLTOR CASV rails and the SWS which Noveske uses (though the ones Noveske gets differ slightly). A lot of guys around here seem to like the LaRue, DD, and KAC URX rails.
Also, bear in mind that rail length is going to make the single biggest difference in weight. Putting a 12" rail of any variety on a 16" Noveske barrel (not an especially light barrel) is going to make for a front-heavy gun, unless you use a heavy stock, which will make for a heavier, if balanced, gun. Consider using a mid-length rail if weight is a concern. In your situation, I might choose a CASV-M with the proprietary flip-up front sight. Really, though, I’d urge you to go to a gun store with lots of “tactical” rifles and try to actually hold and get a feel for the various rails.
If weight is a priority, then the VTAC/TROY unit is worth a look. They come with QD swivel mounts on there too.
Otherwise, something like a 10.0Lite should be ideal.
I vote for the DD Lite 10". Everything you could want except the QD.
We make a lighter 16" 6.8 for hunting. It has a lighter contour barrel and TRX handguard and comes in at 6 lbs.
Fantastic handling carbine, it is VERY light in the hands.
