Radical adj. gas block - any good?

The radical/red barn armory adjustable gas block looks like a really good deal. Is anyone familiar with it? Any good?

Not sure but for $25 shipped for the blem I ordered one.

How do you adjust it? Looks like the screw faces rearward. Does the adjustment screw have a lock or detent on it? Looks like a classic case of getting what you pay for.

Adjusts on right, tensioner is in rear.

Just to update:

I received mine shortly after I ordered it, didn’t do much more than make sure it was there until today. Still haven’t shot it but it’s pretty simple.

It’s a cheap design. It has a little set screw on the back side that just hits into the threads on the bigger screw. You can’t adjust the tensioner once it’s installed as it sits on the shoulder side and low. I didn’t want to play with it too much because I figured it would just screw up the thread, will save the 9 lives for when I adjust it in.

It has no “clicks” like other brands, so no way of adjusting on the fly as necessary if you wanted to, as you have no reference. Curious as to how it’ll hold up with the screw being the regulator. I probably don’t shoot enough for it to matter.

The build has been a budget build so I’m okay with it. If it starts giving me issues or I decide to buy a NICE barrel, I’ll upgrade then.

I got the Radical adjustable block. Its very clear that a Chinese vendor is shopping them around–Radical, Red Barn, JoeBobOutfitters–all have the same awful block.

Mine was pretty bad. As said above, the tension screw that stops the adjustment screw from walking is drilled too low, making it impossible to set after installation because it sits below the shoulder of the barrel.

Brass setscrew is ultra, ultra soft and laughably easy to strip. Using the smallest Bondhus wrench, it stripped instantly–and I NEVER strip fasteners.

Interior surface finish is rough at best. Its bad.

The ID of the gas block is .748, requiring immense pressure or beating on with a hammer to get it to scrape into position. I didn’t bother, I threw the whole assembly in the trash. Doesn’t belong on any gun.

Mine had a stainless set screw, inside measured .7504, and finish was fine. The blem was in the front where it looks like one of the tools was set too low.

I did need to open the pin hole to .081, it measured .077 to start and I I couldn’t get the pin to start for the life of me.

Maybe the Red Barn ones are nicer than the Radical ones.
