Quinton Tarrentino to Leno

–It’s disrespectful to bring up all these side items-- this is a mental health issue —

And he actually got applause… I can’t believe it.

Got a youtube clip of any kind? Totally missed this one.

No he was just on Leno tonight. didn’t record it. But Leno is a huge Obama fan and I figured the audience would moan rather than applaud.

Well what did he say exactly?

Quentin Tarentino has always been pretty right wing, from what I gathered from stuff he’s said in the past. I have a lot of respect for him.

I don’t know if I’d call him Republican, but I’ve heard him say some not kind things about Obama in the past. And other Democrats. Mostly for censorship, media bias, restricting civil rights, and racism.

get up to about 3:15

I didn’t know that… that’s good to hear.

I can’t wait to go see it, when the kill whitey scene happens I think I too may shout “kill whitey”, of course as a pale white man I think it may come off a bit awkward, but fuck it I like to live dangerously sometimes.

I’m a QT fan, so I have to see it on the big screen.

I saw that interview, and to be honest in the instant that he hesitated before saying “mental health issue”, I thought he was going to say “assault weapons.”

I wanted to stand up and applaud when I heard his actual statement.

It seems Samuel L. Jackson is in the same camp as well.

Again a surprise.

They’re learning.

Plus, Sam Jackson knows what it’s like to have your civil rights violated. He was a Black Panther.

I think some people are starting to see that it’s not just one civil right that is being attacked but rather the “Big 2”. Buy that I mean both 1A and 2A. Listen to them. Reasonable gun control, Reasonable speech, Reasonable laws regulating both. People are starting to think that this sounds a lot like censorship and oppression.

Once it starts where do you stop? Where does “reasonable” begin and end? Who makes the call?

People are learning.

Quentin Tarantino has voiced support of guin control:

From http://wiki.tarantino.info/index.php/Playboy_Interview_1994:

“Tarantino: I don’t own a gun. But if gun control were to happen in America, I would have no problem with it whatsoever. Gun control would probably do wonders here.”

The same “people” re elected Obama. You have more faith than I do.

I support violence control starting with Quentin Tarrentino. I don’t know much about this guy, I don’t watch movies so I looked him up on the internet. He is a creepy looking dude. Based solely on appearance I would gladly vote him “Most Likely to Commit Mass Murder”. Seriously, these assholes will just as quickly accept kudos for the great social value of their works as they will deny any social caused by the same movie. I don’t see how a steady diet of bloody movies and television shows can fail to desensitize folks to violence. It astonishes me that anyone would claim otherwise.

Our rulers make the call.

I challenge you to prove that. In my experience people grow stupider by the day, stupider by the minute even.

That was 18 years ago.

Also… from that same interview:

“But I also feel there’s a slight hypocrisy about gun control. America was founded on people grabbing guns and just taking it. We are basically a nation of warriors. We’re very easily pumped up. For good reasons, sometimes.”

The roots were already there.
