Hey folks! I’m new to this board (however, I have picked up a lot of information here before joining!) and just wanted to say hi (HI!) and ALSO, well I have to make a decision (I’m indecisive as Hail!) by err…TONIGHT – so I turn to the experts on this one and here is the question:
What do you think of the newer Smith&Wesson, model M&P-15A (or “T” model for that matter)?
My local distributer has ONE left and it is the “A” Model without the (IMHO) very cool Troy Industries Fore-grips on it…not essential but I’ve always LOVED these things nevertheless!
The deal here is wanting $989.00 for this beauty and, from what I’ve read it is a very impressive rifle/carbine indeed. HOWEVER, at almost $1,000.00 US that IS a LOT of money to me (even though S&W’s MSRP is $1,300.00 US for this rifle) and there are other, comparable carbines out there as well, such as DPMS (I already have a Colt’s, thank you very much…nice rifle but IMHO – just a leeeeeetle over-rated AND it has that stupid, just-before-the-ban BLOCK in the lower receiver too!), Bushmaster et. al.

I could wait-and-see if they can still get the “T” model in, which has the Troy foregrips and flip-up sites in both the rear AND the front (sweeeeeet!) but I could also just go a head and upgrade this here model…doe….what to DO???

!! However, the only real difference between their “Standard” or “A” model compared to their TOTL “T” model…is that very seductive fore end 
! Can’t help it…I know I KNOW that its mostly cosmetic but I just LIKE it ya know
