Hello again guys.
Before I get started here I’d like to say thanks again for all the responses to my last post as it pointed me in the right direction concerning accessories for the M4 style carbine I’m now only 2 weeks from purchasing (gotta love tax returns).
To lead off, I’m not looking to dredge up any old discussions but the answers I need I haven’t been able to find. I’ve narrowed my choice of purchases down to two rifles. It’s either going to be the LMT CQB MRP Defender Model Piston 16 or the LWRC M6.
Question 1: Are any of the members here that own the LMT I spoke of willing to weigh it unloaded and let me know the results? I haven’t been able to find any in depth specs on the LMT even in their 2010 product catalog. One I’m specifically looking for is weight as the LWRC comes in at 6.7 pounds which is only marginally heavier than your normal M4 style carbines that are traditional direct gas impingement. I have also read quite a few comments that the LMT’s felt recoil is much less “sharp” than the LWRC and these two factors might just sway my decision permanently to the LMT. I contacted LMT and they said that their backorders have been taken care of and they have complete rifles ready to ship in about 30-45 days which is great news.
Question 2: Do any of the members that own the LWRC M6 know which quad rail forearms fit the rifle? I ask in case the LWRC does turn out to be the rifle I purchase, it comes with the standard polymer forearm and I’d like to have a 7” - 10” quad rail.
Question 3: Are there any in depth range reports on these two rifles? I’ve searched pretty extensively and I can’t seem to find anything with accuracy info, target pics, failures etc etc.
As always thanks again for any info, this forum is a great resource for me and I hope to become much more active once I have my M4 variant and can post real world hands on info of my experiences/knowledge.
