Question reguarding LMT sopmod buttstocks VS CTX magpul locking buttstocks ...

Hi,
My Question is are the basicaly the same outer dimensions ?
Reason I ask is a have a pelican 1700 case " moulded foam insert "and its been cut to fit the magpul with a caa cheekpeice and if I swap out would if it would it fit correctly is same cutout ?

Ps I realize mine is commercial tube and the LMT is millspec but that shouldn’t matter I assume.
Thanks for any and all help.

I run CTRs and MOEs on all my guns. I used to run VLTOR stocks but found the magpul work a bit better for me.
I know a number of people who like the LMT stocks but it just never did it for me. It works fine but I just think it is a bit expensive for what you get.

$200 for a stock is beyond my budget. I also prefer the Magpul MOE.

I would check and make sure the SOPMOD will fit on a commercial RE…I don’t think that it will since the mil-spec is a smaller diameter. I think you can put commercial on mil-spec but not the other way around. Maybe someone can chime in that tried.

You know what they say about assumptions? There’s your proof. A sopmod won’t fit a commercial tube properly.

LMT SOPMOD is also longer lengthwise than the CTR IIRC.

Thanks for all the replys and 100% correct the lmt will not fit a commercial stock only millspec.

Also I agree there high I just found a used one & millspec tube that is alot cheaper than new plus sold my CAA and utg rail that I never used to pay for it.

And yes $200 for a stock is ridiculas agreed.

The guy I am buying it from is measuring its outer dimensions to see if its the same size or close because I have already cut out the foam on my pelican and don’t want to do that again
