Question on LMT MWS - Brake for 6.5 Creedmoor

I have a Noveske 6.5 Creedmoor barrel I am having converted to run on my MWS.

I am looking for a brake for it and am not having much luck. I have heard that the Surefire MB68AR (designed for 6.8) will work well.

Anyone have any input on this? Thanks!

As long as it’s got the correct thread pitch at the muzzle (5/8x24) then any 30 cal brake will work just fine. Don’t worry about it being slightly over bullet diameter. The 30 cal comps work fine with 6.8 bullets.

Got it. So the BABC will work on the 6.5 Creedmoor as well. I was wondering if it made a difference.

I would go with the BABC.

I already use the BABC on my 308. I just wanted confirmation that it would work ont he Noveske 6.5 CM.

If your barrel thread is the standard 5/8 x 24 RH the BABC will work well on your 6.5.

FWIW I would not use a 6.8 Surefire can on a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle. The powder charges and gas volumes are significantly different even though the nominal bullet diameters are similar. Yes, I will be Captain Obvious in the name of safety…

I’m not planning to use a can… just the brake. I think I am leaning toward the BABC. I have had great experience with that in the past.
